About Mount, top

Mount is one of the most dominant positions in jiu-jitsu and scores 4 points. You are sitting on their torso with gravity on your side, and they can't easily hit or submit you. Classic attacks include the armbar, the cross-collar choke, the americana and the arm triangle.

The challenge is staying there. A good opponent will bridge and shrimp to escape, so keep your weight low, spread your base and post a hand when they bridge. Climb towards their armpits to a high mount when you can: the higher you sit, the harder you are to remove.
